It is never to late to hit the Re-Set button on your life

Life interrupts even the best laid plans, and we fall away from the achievement of our goals and our pursuit of that ideal lifestyle.  Bills come up, accidents happen, we get sick, the kids get sick, etc.
The idea of starting over again just seems too hard, but it’s very important to understand this area in our personal development. There are tons of reasons that we fall off the wagon. But it’s so vitally important to remember that we can always get right back on that wagon and go through the process of starting over.
Let’s take a quick look at some of the ways in which we can do just that.
1.  Pick up right where we left off.  Sometimes a project can be simply continued from the last stopping point.  You’re trying to write a book?  Read through where you left off and then get to writing again.  You’re trying to improve your blogging?
Get back to that blogging schedule you set up a while back.  Just getting right back to the routine you were in (and was working before the interruption) can sometimes be the best way to restart those great habits.
2.  Do something to spur a new beginning.  So you went off your diet.  Or maybe you haven’t been working out for a while.  And just starting over from where you left off isn’t going to be productive – you’d be setting yourself up for failure that way by jumping into a situation that you weren’t prepared for adequately.
So perhaps what you need is to look at a new program.  Or you might need to restart on an old program, if it was working before the interruption.  That joy of starting over can give you just the impetus and fresh outlook to make a project live again.
3.  Find a trusted friend(s) to help you.  There’s no better way to get a goal achieved than to announce it publicly to someone who can keep you on the straight and narrow – an accountability partner.  Or let a group of supportive people with similar interests know what you’re up to, and what the situation is.
Our relationships in the world are what make life special, so use those relationships as a way to get your goals accomplished as well as build up a support structure for yourself. You aren’t the only person that falls off the wagon of progress.
Being around others with the similar experience can make it that much easier for you in starting over with your progress.
The key thing is: take the time to figure out what’s going to work best for you, given the goal you’re after, the project you’re working on, and the way you work.  All of us are different, and we all have the best and worst ways that we work.
